PROJECT OVERVIEW
A mid century home in Whitefield, Greater Manchester, had sat on the market for over a year with little buyer interest despite being located in one of the area’s most desirable neighbourhoods. Structurally sound and well located, the property’s lack of traction puzzled the owner and estate agent alike.
Target Green was engaged to assess the home’s interior presentation and deliver a light touch design refresh aimed at improving buyer engagement without major renovations. The result was a swift transformation that led to increased viewings and a successful sale, demonstrating the impact of thoughtful interior styling on property performance.
HOW WE GOT STARTED
The client approached our team after a personal recommendation, seeking advice on how to present the home more effectively. While they were initially unsure whether the interior was holding the property back, a free in person consultation quickly revealed areas of untapped potential.
We identified that the existing interior, while functional, felt dated and lacked cohesion. The home did not immediately spark emotional connection for prospective buyers, something we know is key in today’s competitive housing market.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
Working within a modest budget, we focused on low cost high impact improvements that would breathe new life into the space. The strategy was to enhance rather than overhaul.
Colour Palette:
Outdated tones were replaced with warm contemporary neutrals to modernise the overall feel and maximise natural light.
Layout Tweaks:
Existing furniture was reworked and repositioned to improve flow and highlight focal points.
Soft Furnishings and Accessories:
Carefully chosen items including cushions, throws, lighting and indoor plants added texture, balance and a more inviting feel.
Styling:
The goal was to allow buyers to better imagine themselves in the space by creating a welcoming yet neutral backdrop.
Our approach retained the home’s character while helping it appeal to a broader range of buyers.
FINAL OUTCOME
The transformation was subtle but powerful. With no structural changes and minimal spend, the home became more market ready, gaining immediate positive feedback from estate agents and potential buyers. Most importantly, the property soon received a serious offer at the desired asking price, far exceeding the cost of the refresh.
