PROJECT OVERVIEW
Target Green was appointed to transform a dated, four-bedroom 1970s home with a fragmented layout and limited natural light. The brief from a young couple planning a family was clear: create a contemporary, future-ready home with better flow, more light, and flexible spaces for everyday living.

HOW WE GOT STARTED
Working to the clients’ priorities, we re-planned the ground floor to open up circulation and strengthen the connection to the south-facing garden. The heart of the scheme is a generous open-plan kitchen, dining and family space, with full-height glazed doors that flood the interior with daylight and provide seamless access to the garden.

APPROACH & SOLUTIONS
Fragmented 1970s layout:
We removed cellular barriers to create a coherent, open-plan ground floor that supports family life and entertaining.
Upper-floor suitability for a growing family:
We reconfigured the first floor to form a spacious master suite with dressing room and en-suite; retained and refined the remaining bedrooms to stay well proportioned and functional.
Limited natural light and weak garden connection:
We introduced full-height glazing to maximise daylight and create an easy indoor-outdoor flow to the south-facing garden.
Practical storage and day-to-day function:
We added a dedicated utility room to handle laundry and storage, keeping the principal living space calm and uncluttered.
Addition of a car port:
Our proposal also included the addition of a car port to the front of the double garage to create a undercover entrance to the front of the house.
PROJECT OUTCOME
The result is a bright, flexible and family-focused home that respects the character of the original property while delivering contemporary comfort.
The reworked plan improves day-to-day living, enhances natural light, and creates a clear connection to the garden, exactly what the clients were seeking for the next chapter of their lives.
